Gunchda Sev – Rough-Edged Sev with Warm Spices

Heartier than fine sev, Gunchda Sev has rough, uneven strands that give every bite extra crunch. Gram flour dough is pressed and fried in groundnut oil, then seasoned with red chilli, Kashmiri chilli, black salt, ajwain and a pinch of hing. A warm blend of black pepper, fennel, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom rounds out the flavour.

Munch it straight from the pack with masala chai, scatter it over chaat, bhel or salads for crunch, or set out a bowl when guests drop by. It is also a handy snack to carry on long journeys.
