Balushahi – Flaky Ghee Sweet with a Sugar Glaze
Made from refined wheat flour (maida) and plenty of ghee, balushahi is shaped into rounds, fried and coated in sugar syrup. The syrup sets into a thin, sweet glaze over a flaky, layered centre. Almonds and a little saffron finish each piece.
It is a familiar sight at Diwali, Holi and weddings, and sits well on a mithai platter beside dry sweets. Children and adults alike enjoy its crisp-then-soft bite with a cup of tea.
Available in 250g and 500g boxes. Order Balushahi online from Radhe Prem Ni Mithaas for delivery anywhere in India.
